In the supporting cast, Jason Schwartzman is very entertaining, and Lesley Manville is completely unrecognizable
Luca Guadagnino’s direction captures longing so beautifully in a dirty, sweaty way, enhanced by the colorful locations and Jonathan Anderson’s period-appropriate costume styling. Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross’ music is a nice mix of their usual work and some new elements, and the soundtrack is an unexpected highlight with a collection of songs that far transcend the time period in which it’s set and still work well.
