The Duttons faced new challenges in the early 20th century, including the growth of western expansion, Prohibition, and the Great Depression. Although America’s Great Depression began in 1929, it began earlier in Montana. The Great Depression began in Montana in 1918, almost 10 years before the rest of the country. While the rest of America prospered, Montana struggled. Due to the drought and reduced demand for agricultural products due to the end of the “Great War” (also known as the First World War, from 1914 to 1918), many farmers suffered greatly. As a result, Montana farmers were unable to pay their war loans, which led to widespread bank failures across the state. Between 1921 and 1925, half of the farmers in Montana lost their land. By 1925, 70,000 of Montana’s 82,000 settlers had left. In addition, 200 banks in Montana went bankrupt. The drought not only damaged the crops, it was followed by an invasion of locusts and an infestation of cattle. After Yellowstone, it was the second, but still a similar feeling… I really enjoyed it, and although I would have to see something else, I feel that maybe it could have been better (it’s more difficult after Yellowstone! ) BUT. BUT. BUT… It seems that everything has finally moved from dead center and the side stories are coming together… And then it all ends – it’s obviously set up for a second season – BUT – if it doesn’t happen, then you just wasted your time, because the story doesn’t even end by the end of this first season. And at present there is no announcement or schedule for the second season… That’s how it pisses me off! It’s like going to a great restaurant and getting only side dishes without the main course!!! What the hell… C’mon producers…. Get your fingers out!!!!
